More than any other message, that is the one we want to drive home, especially to those COLRE members working by themselves in such lonely outposts as Crescent City and Brawley.

The main purpose of our re-designed web site it to bring our far-flung COLRE family closer together through instant communications. Our 600 examiners work out of 170 offices and whether there are seven co-workers or none, we all face frustrations with the job and with our management and need a place to purge, to get comfort, to get ideas, to re-motivate ourselves, and to keep connected.

We want our COLRE site to be that place. We also want our site to be a place we can, on occasion, send the media and the public at large to get a glimpse of the jobs we perform on behalf of their public safety, and to that end, we are happy to report that CAUSE has provided us with media professionals we can call upon when needed.

One idea already in the works is an annual Top 10 list of the dumbest things people have said in trying to obtain their license. We don’t think there is a single COLRE member without a favorite line. So send it to us, if we don’t use it this year, we might the next, or expand the list to 20.

But more importantly this site was designed for us. It will be only as good as it used. So please make a regular habit of checking in on it and drop us an e-mail on your thoughts about it.
