Each one of our organizations, Department of Mental Health and Department of Developmental Services has what is called a time release bank.

The time in this bank is used by Board Members for conducting union related business. Board Members, including myself, have had to use their vacation or CTO time to cover the time missed from work to attend a Board Meeting or other union related activity.

In order to prevent this, the HPAC Board has been working aggressively towards building up the time release bank. Many members have donated numerous hours towards these banks by a simple donation or in exchange for an HPAC item. We have produced hats, duffel bags, t-shirts, tote bags and polos to exchange for time donations.

This has gone very well and I would like to thank every member who has donated so generously to the bank. We have used much of this time recently due to our most recent quarterly board meeting and the CAUSE Conference in November.
